Research review: Reconstruction of ear defects

This month we share a simple surgical tip in the form of a research letter. I am always on the lookout for these kinds of tips, and I use them in my own practice regularly.

For further information on this topic, you may be interested to learn more about the HealthCert Professional Diploma program in Skin Cancer Medicine.

This is a short, simple letter and (I think) a simple and neat option for repairs on the lower ear helix.

In this research letter, reference is made to another useful technique – the split ear helix advancement flap, and I include that paper here.

I hope these papers assist you in repair of ear defects.
