In this short video, Associate Professor Debbie Kors compares the efficacy of the available contraceptive options for women.

A/Prof Kors talks about available contraceptives including hormonal contraceptive pills, the vaginal ring, etonogestrel implants, DMPA injections, and IUDs.

She also looks at physical barrier methods such as the male condom, the female condom, and the diaphragm, and sterilisation procedures.

A/Prof Kors provides a comparison for their efficacy, how long it takes women to return to fertility, and whether these contraceptives protect against STIs.

The video also looks at other approaches such as withdrawal method, spermicide, and natural methods.
