[Online lecture] Nutrition for inflammatory bowel disease & irritable bowel syndrome

Approximately one in five Australians experience symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) at some time. In this insightful online lecture, Accredited Practising Dietitian Alexandra Burke discusses how you can help your patients alleviate IBS through two of the common elimination diets.

In the lecture, Alexandra covers nutrition for patients with irritable bowel syndrome (specifically constipation and diarrhoea), as well as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) such as Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

Alexandra looks at the mechanisms of some food induced symptoms of these conditions. She explains how a practitioner can provide nutritional support to patients with IBS and IBD while not limiting the patient to a restrictive long-term diet.

She further explores the common elimination diets which can help alleviate symptoms and help patients maintain their gut health.
